Experts now recommend several insect repellents to protect against West Nile virus.
DEET (OFF! Skintastic Spray, Deep Woods, etc) is effective. Higher concentrations don't work BETTER...they just last LONGER.
For adults, Health Canada suggests up to 30% DEET...it lasts 2 to 6 hours. Suggest up to 10% DEET for children aged 6 months to 12 years. Don't recommend DEET for kids less than 6 months.
